RATES & INSURANCE
Therapy Rates and Insurance
No surprises. Here's what therapy costs and how to pay for it.
Free 15-minute consultation · In-network with most major insurance plans · Superbills available · HSA/FSA accepted
Money is one of the biggest reasons people put off therapy, and it's hard to plan for something when nobody will tell you the numbers. So here they are.
You can use your insurance, pay out of pocket, or ask about our sliding scale. If you're not sure which makes sense for you, we'll help you figure it out on your free consult.
Using your insurance
We're in-network with most major insurance plans. Network status can vary by therapist, so we'll confirm yours before your first session.
What you'll usually owe:
Copay: if your plan has one, you pay it at each session.
Deductible: until it's met, you may owe the full session fee.
Coinsurance: if your plan uses it, you pay your percentage of the session fee.
We check your benefits ahead of time, but your insurance company makes the final call on what's covered. It's worth calling them too and asking about coverage for "outpatient mental health telehealth" services.
Self-pay rates
First session (intake): $200
Standard session (53 to 60 minutes): $150
Shorter session (38 to 52 minutes): $125
Couples session: $175
Sliding scale: Reduced rates of $70 to $100 per session are available at your therapist's discretion. Ask about it on your free consult.
Out-of-network: If we're not in your network, we can give you a superbill to submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement.
How to pay: We accept all major credit cards, plus HSA and FSA cards.

Services outside of sessions
Some things happen outside your scheduled session, like letters (including gender-affirming care letters), reports, or calls and meetings with other professionals at your request. These are billed at $150 per hour, prorated to the nearest quarter hour. Insurance doesn't cover them. Legal work, like subpoenas or court testimony, is billed the same way, including prep time.
Cancellations and missed sessions
Your appointment time is held just for you, so we ask for notice if you need to change it.
Most appointments: 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule.
High-demand times (before 9 AM, 3 PM or later, and weekends): 48 hours' notice.
Late cancellations and no-shows: $75. Insurance doesn't cover this fee.
Running late: your session still ends on time. More than 15 minutes late counts as a no-show.
Life happens. Emergencies are considered case by case.
